She was born in Easton, MD on February 2, 1924, daughter to Ann Quinn and Charles Victor Mathews. She lived all over the United States moving with her husband’s job for DuPont, then returning to Louisville several years ago. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and had a love for playing bridge and golf. She most enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and dogs, and volunteering her time to many fine charities and her church throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Harry S. Stanton; and her children, William M. Stanton (Jacquie) of Tacoma, WA and Chris Stanton Osowski (Victor) of Louisville; five grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle and Avery Stanton and Mark and Katie Osowski; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 9616 Westport Rd. A celebration of Aleece’s life will take place at 6:15 PM on Friday in the Fellowship Hall, behind the church.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
