Addie L. Simpson, 83, of Louisville, passed away peacefully when God called her home on the morning of July 13, 2013. She was the former Addie Clark and a native of Somerville, NJ, and a registered nurse. Addie volunteered for the Girl Scouts and the American Red Cross, and was a member of the Watterson Trail Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood M., Sr. and Addie Mae Van Ness Clark; brothers, Elwood M. Clark, Jr., Walter B. Clark, Sr., and Charles L. Clark, Sr.; sisters, Erma E. Clarke, and Helen H. Miller.
Left cherishing her memory is her loving husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Simpson; son, Bill Jr. (Josephine) Simpson; daughter, Michele Fowler; sisters, Shirley Vander Vort, Barbara A. Bailey (Howard), Jean Simpson; grandson, Jamel Simpson; step-grandsons, Jari Maddox, Greg (Nae) Maddox and Tyrell Maddox; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; her church family and many friends.
A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
