Edith (Edie) M. Lyman Born on June 1, 1924 in Winnipeg, Canada, she went to be with Jesus, Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 Edie Loved people and animals, her love of animals was wide ranged but her 1st was dogs and horses. She raised boxers and Rottweilers, trained them in obedience and conformation and treated her dogs as a member of the family. If Edie met you once you where her friend, She loved her family and was always there for them – no matter what. She was a great baker and had fresh baked cookies in the refrigerator at all times, she was most famous for her Chocolate chip cookies. She loved to laugh and always had something going on. She worked at Sears for many years and then had her own Alteration Sewing “Edie Do” business. Her love of painting gave way to her Pet Portraits. She must have done a 100 all in the love for the owners and their pets. She was very crafty and could make anything, Braiding rugs from old garments and other various craft projects. Gardening was another one of her passions and her yard was always immaculate. Since family was her strongest point she was always there for her own kids and grandkids. When playing “Kings Corners” cards with her grandkids she would make jokes and make them think they won (We think she would let them win just to see their reaction- Until they were older!). She would always attend their functions and would always be there to take care of a sick child or take them anytime her own kids worked or went out on a date. When she looked at you with her blue eyes you could see how she loved you and really cared what you were saying. She was the heart of her family and will be so missed. Edie was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Emmeline Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 73 yrs., Ronald W. Lyman, Daughters, Joyce & Hank Mathias, Judy & Richard Houser and son Gary & Mary Lyman. Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a Open House Celebration of her life at her daughters home @ 1189 Pismo Ave. Los Osos on Saturday, November 21st from 1:00-3:00 PM. Come and share happy memories.
