Dear Mom, 
You fought society, traditional norms and  expectations for women in your time. You rose above unfair religious and racial prejudice to pursue the man you loved and live an exceptional life. I did not always understand nor fully appreciate your decisions in my youth. Now I am SO grateful that you were my mother and a very good Grandmother.  I miss you terribly and your great love for dogs.  Thank you for forgiving  me of  the hurts and disappointments that I caused you. Your loving daughter. Anne Marie.
