Petra Talamantes Garcia

Petra Talamantes was born in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico September 11, 1928 to Jose Talamantes and Sabina Tafoya Talamantes. Orphaned at a young age, she was raised by her father's cousin Petra T. Azios in Laredo, Texas. In 1952, she married Luis M. Garcia from Laredo. They lived in San Antonio two years, then moved to Los Angeles. There and in nearby suburbs, Petra lovingly devoted her life to her family, including two daughters, Blanca and Yvonne. She is survived by them, as well as by two grandchildren Feliza and Richard, and two beautiful great-granddaughters Adriana and Emilia. Also feeling the loss of this wonderful woman are her son-in-law Gilbert Diaz and other family members and close friends.
