Martha Gina Torres

Martha Gina Torres, age 49, was born at Cedars Sinai, “hospital to stars”, on March 8, 1974. And just like all fabled "Only in L.A." stories, Baby Martha and her parents, Otilia and Javier, found themselves staying one floor above legendary actress, Natalie Wood, and actor, Robert Wagner, whose baby girl, Courtney Wagner, was born one day after Martha. The Torres family found out about Courtney’s birth when Mr. Wagner excitedly ran through every floor in the maternity ward, giving away cigars to celebrate the birth of his daughter. Mr. Wagner handed a cigar to Javier and joyfully congratulated him on the birth of Martha Gina. Martha grew up in East Los Angeles, California with her two brothers, Abraham and Javier, Jr. and her younger sister, Cynthia. She passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Murrieta, California.

Martha was the ultimate 80s girl, who loved Madonna and other 80s and 90s artists, as well as the New Wave and Freestyle music of that iconic era—and her school friends still associate her with Madonna today. In fact, Martha’s unique beauty and style led her to be scouted by a record label to be an 80s pop star herself. Always having a love for music, Martha expanded her music library to include country music, Shania Twain, Selena, Jenny Rivera and more. Many of us will remember Martha when we hear her favorite songs.Her mother, Otilia Torres, her three children, Martin Anthony Ojeda, Alexis Brooke Staffa and Alexander Logan Garcia, and her three siblings survive Martha. Martha’s beloved father, Javier Torres, passed away in October 2019.
