It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the passing of Luke Don Van Dyke, 32, of natural causes, at his home in Los Angeles, California, on November 10, 2024. Luke was a beloved son, brother, partner, friend, dog dad, cousin, nephew, and soon-to-be father of Luke Jr. To know Luke, was to love Luke. He was the brightest of lights, who brought happiness and laughter to everyone who encountered him. Luke was a charismatic force and a beautiful soul, both inside with his universal kindness, and on the outside with his piercing blue eyes. People like Luke come around once in a lifetime, if that. In truth, he was one of a kind. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued, whether through his never-ending smile, hilarious sense of humor, generosity, or just his incredibly big heart that welcomed all. He was known for his deep love of his family and friends, and his genuine concern for the well-being of others. Luke was the person everyone wanted to be around.
Luke Van Dyke was born in Westwood, New Jersey to Anne Van Dyke and Paul Van Dyke on August 15, 1992. Luke was a successful entrepreneur, putting together and training a talented team of 20+ people, and rapidly growing. Luke created a work environment that was not only highly productive, but gave the employees growth opportunities in a family-like setting. In short, people loved to work for Luke and Luke loved to see his team members’ success.
Throughout his life, Luke pursued his passions wholeheartedly. He had a knack for investments and was an incredible businessman, an avid card collector, a dedicated mentor, a dog park fan, and loved games of all kinds, but especially sports (go Jets!), both playing and following. Luke went on an annual family vacation to Yosemite and travelled coast-to-coast regularly. He lived life to the fullest and was a source of unwavering support to his family and friends, always engaging, positive, charming, and loving. Above all, Luke cherished the bond with his family. He was so excited to be a dad, and it would have been his best feat yet. To his parents, Anne and Paul, his sister, Chanel, and his beloved, Savannah, he was not just a son, brother, and partner, but a lifelong friend, confidant, and the keeper of countless shared memories. Those memories, and all the happiness they bring with them, will be shared and preserved for his son, Luke Jr.
Luke leaves behind his beloved, Savannah, and his soon to be born son, Luke Jr., his mom, Anne, and her husband, Kevin, his dad, Paul, and his wife, Eva, his sister, Chanel, and her husband, Jeff, his dog Ashoka, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, including Nathan, Joyce, Trish, Troy, Jack, and Danny, who loved him dearly.
A funeral mass will be held for Luke on November 25, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, located at 102 Park St. Haworth, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Luke’s memory to his future son, Luke Jr., at the following Gofundme page:

Though his journey in this world has ended, Luke’s legacy of love, and the joy he brought will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will carry Luke with us forever.
