Loretta was born June 12, 1937 in Stover, Missouri where she resided with her parents, Clara Sara (Buskirk) & Benjamin Lawrence Hedrick Sr. and 12 siblings on a hog farm. She spent most of her working career in factories and retired after many years as a seamstress making Levis Strauss blue jeans at Lamy's.
Loretta was an avid gardener and enjoyed walking through her many flower beds -looking for new blooms on the many varieties of flowers she had collected over the years to include ones from Paris, France, the Hawaiian Islands and Mexico. She also enjoyed sitting in her yard watching the various birds that she fed as they make their migratory trek through Sedalia however she especially enjoyed the hummingbirds. When she wasn’t gardening or bird watching she enjoyed spending a day out "galavanting" with her family. Loretta was especially known for her homemade chicken noodles, cakes, cookies and candies. Cooking was one of her favorite passions and she made everything from scratch.
