Oh my sweet Bill. Only years later did I find out. You gave me my first part, and you were always kind, always professional, and always with a smile, even when you were amusingly cantankerous. I can hear your laugh, I can hear your voice, and I can fondly recall your stories. Thank you for seeing something in me and pushing me to be my best. You are still adored by those you left behind. All my love.

Dear Bill, I only met you twice, but the first time I met you, i was immediately touched by your wise, open, and still curious  soul.  Your reputation preceded you. Before I met you,  just knowing how much  you meant to the important people in my life made me want to know you more. Once I met you, I understood why you had the impact you did on my extended family. Your awareness and kindness to the world around you was an inspiration. Your many talents carried your light out into the world in such beautiful ways. You will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace, dear man. 

It is with the deepest caring, respect, love and sadness that I/we say goodbye to Bill Dyer. Bill was truly the heart and soul of In Defense of Animals, actually of all humanity. He was always a fantastic source of inspiration to me and all who knew him and worked with him; an amazing individual with an enormous range of talents, consideration, warmth and love for all our fellow beings, human and non-human alike. Let his life inspire us and all activists, guardians and vegans to be ever stronger and more active and committed animal advocates, animal guardians and vegans. Bill truly followed in the deeply caring footsteps, courage and compassion of St. Francis of Assisi, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Cesar Chavez, to name but a few of the giants he chose to follow in their footsteps and emulate.  He truly deserves to be included in the famous giants of history.

Bill, you are forever a legend and I hope one day I can be half the man you were. Not only were you talented but you were selfless. You were my father's best friend for longer than I've been alive. I wish I had gotten to know you better. I wish I had gone with you to help the defense of animals in need. I will never forget you and I know that you are a heaven with countless animals that are so happy to have you there. Enjoy the afterlife and I will see you there one day.
