Arrangements under the direction of Alice B. Palomino was known as many things to many people. She was a sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. To family and friends who knew her best, Alice will be remembered as a classy, kind and loving person.
She was the daughter of Manuel and Carlota Amezcua. Alice was raised with two siblings. She had one older sister, Terry and one younger sister, Sally. They shared many life experiences over the years, always surrounded by family. As a young girl, Alice played the violin and tap danced with her sister Terry at family gatherings. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Los Angeles in 1949.
On August 26, 1951 Alice exchanged wedding vows with Louis C. Palomino. She was blessed with four children, Rebecca, Luis, Elizabeth and Martha. Alice worked hard to be a good mother to her children, teaching them the value of family and religion. Another blessing for Alice was the gift of eight grandchildren, Bobby Jr., Andrea, Adam, Amy, Sophia, Zachary, Alexandra and Matthew. She was also the great grandmother of Ashlyn, Erin, Madison, Miley, Gavin, Cooper, Parker and Mia.
Alice spent her leisure time taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, crafting and gardening. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family in Mexico. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a member Nativity Catholic Church in El Monte, California for 59 years. During that time, she served as a Eucharistic Minister taking Communion to the elderly living in a nearby nursing home. When Alice retired from Jacob's Engineering in 1993, she found pleasure in spending time at the many birthday and holiday parties with family and pursuing her hobbies.
Alice passed away on September 9, 2016 at Oak Park Manor in Claremont, California. She is survived by her two sisters, four children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
