Home going services for Luna B. "Dear" Shaw, 88 of Longview, TX. will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, August 25, 2011, in the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX. The Rev. D.C. Brown will be officiating.

Ms. Shaw passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Longview. She was born on October 3, 1922 in Tatum, TX. to the late Johnie L. and Annie Mae Smith. She had been married to her husband, Charlie for some 60 odd years before his passing in August of 2000.

Ms. Shaw was a very active woman in her faith, she was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and had served as President of the East Texas Baptist Association for 14 years.

She is survived by her two sons: Avest Shaw and his wife Johnie of Dallas, TX; Billy Shaw and his wife Evelyn of Dallas, TX; Daughter Queen Shaw Bell of Longview, TX; Grandchildren: Patrick Woodson and wife Christine, Alren B. Shaw and wife Tonya, Alysha Shaw, Brit C. Bell and wife Erikka; A host of Great Grandchildren; Brother: Willie Smith and his wife Aretha of Tatum, TX; Nieces: Shirley Montgomery of California, and Bobbie Lois Manning of New Mexico. she is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday starting at 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview TX.
