Joyce Carlisle

Joyce Carlisle of Longview completed her Earthly journey and went to live with Jesus on Monday, March 31, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted by Lakeview Funeral Home at 2:00pm Friday April 4, 2025 in the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home.

She and her twin brother Elmer (Bo) were born to Nellie & Minyard Riley on August 27,1936 in Silsbee, Texas. She grew up in Kountze, Texas and attended Dieu School of Nursing in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated in 1958 and worked in the three local hospitals. She later worked for the Texas Department of Human Services as a Nurse Surveyor and retired in May 2000. She was married to the love of her life, James P. Carlisle for fifty years and had four wonderful children. She and her family moved to Village Mills (Wildwood) for 7 years then moved to Longview, in July of 2004. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and their wonderful Open Door Bible Class. She worked for Texas Home Health, CBA Program after the death of her husband in 2008.

Surviving family members include her three wonderful children and two fantastic granddaughters. Barry Carlisle and wife Lisa and two granddaughters Jamie and Hayley of El Dorado, Arkansas, Bruce Carlisle of Longview, Texas, Daughter Cathy Odom and husband of San Angelo, Texas. She is also survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Frances Tillery and family of Vodor, Texas, and Frankye of Silsbee, Texas. James Riley and wife Soni of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Sister-in-law Ada Riley and here son Charley of Kountze, Texas and many nieces, nephews, and friends in the Beaumont, Texas area.
