She was surrounded by her family singing her favorite song, "There's Just Something About That Name" when she took her last breath.
Janet is survived by her son Tom chin and his wife Jill of Longview, son Ken Chinn and his wife Rhonda of Longview, daughter Patty Washburn and her husband Richard of Lindale, and son William "Bo" chin and his wife Ann of Longview; grandchildren Blake Chinn, Christopher Washburn, Whitney Naylor, Hollie Hughes, Tara Chinn, and Faith Ann Chinn; sister in law Peggy Chinn of Houston, and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Janet enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in Longview with her brother Roy. As a student at Baylor, she was involved in a tragic auto accident that landed her in traction for 18 months. she was told that she would never have children. She met the man of her dreams, Ken Chinn, while working as a legal secretary in Houston. They married and moved back to Longview. being the overcomer that she was, Janet was soon the proud mother of four children. Janet was a wonderful loving wife and mother. She and Ken were happily married for 46 years before his passing on October 23, 2003.
Janet was known as a woman of prayer and encouragement, and had a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.
Janet will be interred in Memory Park Cemetery after a private family celebration of her life.
