Jamie B. Pritchett, 89, of Gladewater, passed away January 11, 2016 in Denton, TX. Mr. Pritchett was born August 21, 1926 in Powell, Texas to Jamie B. and Susan Amanda Byers Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett enlisted into the military serving in the Air Force as WWII came to its end. He served sixteen years as a baker until an injury ended his military career. When he came home to East Texas, he purchased a small piece of land, cleared it, built a shop, a home, and beside that home a church. He loved to work with his hands, and spent his free time working with wood, making frames and moldings.
He is survived by his sons: Jamie B. Pritchett and his fiancé, Julie Dahl of Denton, Frank Pritchett and his wife Rachel of Fredericksburg, TX; daughter: Jennifer Finn and her husband Edward of Hurst, TX; grandchildren: Riley Pritchett of Austin, Chloe Pritchett of Denton, Anthony Pritchett of Austin, Whitney LaBrie and her husband Randy of Ventura, CA, Rachel Finn of Hurst, Adrienne Finn of Hurst; great grandchildren: Kaylee Finn, Jonathan Finn, and Savannah Phillips; brothers: Lonnie Gene Pritchett of Gladewater, Donald Craig Pritchett of Gladewater, and Jerry Mack Pritchett and his wife Brenda of Houston; sisters: Alice Moore of Tyler, and Joy Dale McKnight and her husband Darrell of Gladewater. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Norma Trow Pritchett, brother-Bobby Ray Pritchett, and sister-Judy See.
Visitation for Mr. Pritchett will be held from 6 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 15, 2016, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2106 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Haynes Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
