James was born on August 17th, 1933 in Marshall, TX where he also attended Marshall High School. He worked in the construction business, mainly for the Zackary company, for nearly 25 years.
Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his wife Nell Maddox of Hughes Springs, parents Robert and Donnie Maddox of Memphis, Tennessee, daughter-in-law Trish Maddox of East Mountain, niece Jamie Wall of Cedar Park, and four brothers and five sisters.
He is survived in death by sister Ann West of Alamogordo, New Mexico, daughter Dianne Flarity and her husband Bubba of White Oak, sons James Maddox from Longview and Phil Maddox of East Mountain, grandson Brandon Flarity of White Oak, grandson Jonathan Flarity and family of Kilgore, nephew Robert Maddox and his wife Peaches from Georgetown, nephew Bruce Maddox and wife Pat of Ogden, Utah, nephew Bob Waldrop and wife Patricia of New Braunfels, nephew Darrell Pruitt and his wife Carolyn of Hallsville, nephew Don Pruitt and wife Rose Pruitt of Hallsville, niece Libby Wyatt and her husband Tony of Marshall, niece LuAnn Maddox McCasland and husband Dave of Colorado Springs, Colorado, niece Mary Waldrop Morales and late husband Richard of Liberty Hill, niece Mechele Kapsner of Rockwall, nieces Nell Oliver and Kim Conner of Waco, and many more nieces, nephews and friends.
His family would like to thank the crew at Pine Tree Lodge for the care they gave him in his final year. They would like to especially thank Kim, Angela, Lori, John, Rebecca, Amanda, Dianne, Erin, Candy, Andy, Erica, Francis, Sarah, Pat, Rochelle, Christi, Sissy, and Red.
