Jacqueline (Jackie) Mae Hawkins was born was born March 17, 1931 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the first of four children born to Paul Edward and Lillian Mai Bourlon.
Jackie married the love of her life, Millard “Buck” Hawkins in 1954. Jackie had five children, Connie, Donnie, Millie, Carol and Gene. Buck, Jackie and family travelled as a part of the Air Force to Florida, Michigan, England, and Abilene Texas. Following retirement, they settled in Longview but ultimately acquired their dream at Lake of the Pines.
Jackie loved to sew from an early age. As a child, she took the responsibility of sewing for her brothers and sister. Throughout the years she sewed for her family, extended family and friends. Her creations were a work of art including quilts, curtains, dolls, clothes, wedding dresses and everything in between. There was not a challenge she would not take.
Jackie was always focused on her children with support in sports, scouts and other projects. Friday night games and hamburgers were an important event even as the grandchildren became involved.
Jackie found her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was baptized at North Shore Baptist Church in 1995. She supported her church through music and projects. She made many friends who were like family.
Jackie went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 19, 2020.
Jackie was proceeded in death by her husband of 42 years, Millard “Buck” Hawkins, her parents Lillian and Paul Bourlon, her parents in love Grady and Arthur Hawkins, brothers Paul Jr and Rene Bourlon, and brother in law Blannon Bare and Joe Kirk and special friend Lois Sanders.
Jackie is survived by her sister Anna Marie Kirk, sisters in law Sally Bourlon, Ann Bourlon and Reba Bare. Children: Connie (Pete) Miller, Donnie Ellis, Millie (Larry) Krause, Carol (Terry) Garner, and Gene (Christi) Hawkins. Grand children: Will (Holly) Rohrer, Terry (Kim) Garner, Jennifer Krause, Jeffery Krause, Jammie (Micheal) Young, Joshua (Ana) Hawkins, Jessica Krause, Corinna Garner, Racheal (Matt) Cox, Clayton (Natalie) Garner and Wendy Rohrer. Great-grandchildren: Haley Krause, Karsallyn Garner, Colton Cox, Malachi Young, Elijah Young, Grady Hawkins, Cyrus Cox, James Elizondo and Sam Dugan. And many nieces and nephews.
