A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Louise (Polly) Thompson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Thompson was born August 12, 1939, in Longview, Texas to Huey Dell and Helen Mitchell Butler, and passed into eternal rest on May 17, 2013 in Longview, Texas.

Polly as she was known to most was an School Teacher in the Longview Independent School District, as well as, a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Dwight Butler, Lewis Butler, and Londell Butler. Polly leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 52 years Joe H. Butler; her daughter, Daphne Thompson; son, Joe Butler, II; grandchildren, Chelsea Gabriel Thompson-Glover; Joe Thompson, III; Jacelyn Thompson-Daigle and husband Troy; and Haley Nicole Thompson; great grandchildren. Cameron Daigle and Lauren Daigle; her sister, Monday Lewis; and brother Huey Butler; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. All services are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
