Frances Nell (Tillie) Smith, 89, of White Oak passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her residence in White Oak. She was born January 26, 1928 in Berryville, Arkansas to Willie and Lattie Boyd. Her family moved to San Antonio where she graduated from high school. After graduating, she went to work in the office at Fort Sam Houston post exchange where a handsome soldier walked in one day, that she convinced to marry her. They were married September 13, 1951 in San Antonio, TX, and just celebrated their 66th anniversary. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She loved keeping a clean home and took pride in her dinners of pinto beans, cornbread and potatoes which she lovingly made for her husband. She enjoyed having a clean home, washing dishes, bowling, and the color pink.
She is survived by husband Royce of White Oak, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Lois N. Fanning and Ramona J. Hanson and by her precious companion Peanut.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX with Rev. Wayne Norvell officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her honor to the charity of your choice.
