Glen was born to Charles Orion Scott and Ann Marie Johnson in Bremerton, Washington, on April 9th, 1947 as the fourth of eight children. He joined the US Army at 17 and was stationed in Giessen, Germany where he met his future wife, Annegret Eickhoff. They were married on May 20th, 1967 in Haiger, Germany. After the army, while mastering the German language, Glen worked as a nurse and obtained a nurse’s vocational certificate. Glen and Annegret felt themselves called into missions and lived an adventurous life spreading God’s word in Austria, Germany, and the Philippines. In 2000 they returned to the US and settled in Longview, TX. Glen concluded his career serving as a correctional officer for the Gregg County Sheriff’s department. Before and after retirement, Glen used his accounting studies at LeTourneau University and Kilgore College to skillfully manage the finances at Northwood Church. He is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and fun grandpa. His kindness, sincerity and servant’s spirit touched many lives.
Glen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annegret, his five children: Tim, Esther, Carolyn (Matt), Annette and Julie (Daniel). His grandchildren are Jordan, Juli (Jhon, great-grandchild - Thiago), Santi and Jonathan; Sam (Jadon), Ben and Alayna; Atley and Adelaide; Tristan and Oliver; Silas and Symry. He is also remembered by his siblings Charlie (Edwige), Linda, Ray (Mary), Susie, Theresa (Chris), Tricia (Pete), and Daniel (Cris).
Glen will be laid to rest at Rosewood Cemetery, Longview, Texas in a private service on March 1st, 2025. A memorial service open to all friends and family will also be held at 12pm on March 1st at Northwood Baptist Church, 4376 Tryon Rd. Longview, Texas followed by a reception.
