Donald "Don" Childress

Donald “Don” Childress, 70, of Marshall, TX passed away on August 15, 2014 in Marshall, TX. Mr. Childress was born on March 29, 1944 in Longview to Gale and Rea Childress. He graduated from Plains High School in Plains, KS and went on into the United States Air Force to serve his country. After returning back to the states, he met and soon married Juanita Elizabeth Richardson on August 2, 1968 in Karnack, TX. He had worked for Thiokol and Alcoa before going to work for Fleetwood and working there until he retired.

Mr. Childress is survived by his wife, Juanita of Marshall; son: Danny Richardson and his wife Debra of Marshall; daughter: Diana Sanders and her husband Dean of Longview; daughter: Becky Bodin of Dallas; son: Joe Childress and wife Kelli of Marshall: grandchildren: Aaron Riddle, Nicole Adame, Erica Kelley, Britney Childress, Brandon Childress, Shannon Agnew, Zac Childress, and Lainey Childress; great grandchildren: Makenzi Riddle, Jayden Kelley, Cannon Riddle, Kaden Childress, and Peyton Wellman; cousins: Carla LaRue; Ronald LaRue, and Virginia Cox. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-Michael Shands, and numerous cousins.

A time of visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX with funeral services starting at 3:00 in the funeral home chapel with Bob Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Cypress Valley Bible Church, 4190 W. Pinecrest Drive, Marshall, TX 75670 or the American Cancer Society.
