Clara was born on March 5, 1941, to parents Hubert and Ruby Weaver. She was a long-time resident of Longview and graduated from Spring Hill High School. Clara worked in the Daycare center at Northside Church of Christ, where she was also a member and taught Sunday School classes. The children she cared for were called “Mrs. Clara’s Babies”. She loved her babies with her whole heart and being with them was her greatest joy. She had photo albums filled with pictures of her babies.
She enjoyed fishing, drinking black coffee, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Gill was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Billy Gill; her parents, Hubert and Ruby; brothers, JR and JL Weaver; and granddaughter, Brittany Jones. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Sherry Francis (Larry), and Mary Brown (Doyle); grandchildren, Brandon Francis (Paula), Nick Gill (Brittany), and Lacey Cheman (Bryan); great-grandchildren, Emma Francis, Jaxson Cheman, Brantley Cheman, Lylah Cheman, and Brooklyn Gill; sisters, Ruby Freeman, Barbara Baker, and Mary Garrett. She also leaves behind a host of loving cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Gill will be Brandon Francis, Nick Gill, Bryan Cheman, Jaxson Cheman, and Sam Lasley.
The Gill family would like to give special thanks to Accent Hospice and Arbor Grace nursing home.
A visitation for Clara will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home, followed by A Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM.
