Cecelia Lumbley

Cecelia Ann Lumbley, 84, of Red Oak, TX passed Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Lancaster. She was born Feb. 12, 1939 in Atlanta to Leonard Thurman Pilant and Louise Renell Laughter. She graduated from Atlanta High School and attended Baylor University and received her B.A. in Elementary Education in December 1961. There she met Herschel Lee Lumbley and they wed Dec 19, 1959. She taught in Waco, Pasadena, and Longview, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. Cecelia was widowed Oct 27, 2005, moved to Red Oak in December 2007, and is survived by her sons, Lee Thurman and Jon Harry and his wife Michelle, grandchildren Jon Christopher and his wife Lauren Taylor, Kristen Patricia and her fiancè Gabriel Jerome Young, great-grandson Whitten Lee, extended family and friends. Graveside service at Rosemont Cemetery in Longview, TX at 10:00am Monday May 8, 2023 with a private reception to follow.
