She was married to D.E. Henry in Clayton, New Mexico, on April 27, 1947, the love of her life for 63 years until he passed away in 2011. After raising their family in Clute and Lake Jackson, Texas they moved to Georgetown, Texas when D.E. retired and then later to Longview, Texas. They were active members of Valley View Baptist Church in Longview.
Billie loved her family and the many friends she had. Her other passions included being a beautician (she owned a beauty shop), sewing, embroidery, and cooking for others. Visitors looked forward to a "feast" when visiting.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband D.E. Henry (2011); her daughter Marva Jean Shaver (2023); her brothers Doyle, Benny, and Jimmy; and sisters Johnnie Sue and Ila Ray.
She is survived by her son Rene Henry and wife Linda; her son Rege Henry; her grandchildren, Marisa Lynas, Malana Choi, Malisha Waters, Ryan Henry, Nicole Sharp, and Regan Highley; great-grandchildren Parker, Hutton, and Hastin Lynas; Whittaker and Wynnsley Waters; Allie and Kylie Sharp; and Hannah and Samuel Highley.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, Texas at 2:00 p.m. with Visitation at 1:00 p.m. and will be officiated over by Reverend Tim Lindsay.
