Betty R. Edwards

Betty Ruth Edwards went to be with Jesus on Sunday October 30th, 2022. She was born December 4, 1928 in Athens, Tennessee. She grew up in Athens, Tennessee as an only child. She got her degree at Tennessee Wesleyan where she met her husband, Hoyt Edwards. They got married and were married 66 amazing years until his passing. Betty was an amazing singer, dancer, model, cook, decorator, homemaker and all while working fulltime as an executive secretary, wife and mother. Although she was beautiful her greatest beauty radiated from within as she loved others everywhere she went. Whether it was a waitress or caregiver she adopted everyone and prayed for them. She never cared about what she got out of relationships she only cared about helping others and making them feel loved. When Betty had her cancer each time she witnessed to the doctors, nurses and other patients with the love of Jesus. She didn’t want anyone to miss out on the love Jesus has to offer. She served in several churches over the years but most of all she lived life on mission. Betty was preceded in death by her father Noah Runyon and mother Anna Lee Runyon and her husband Hoyt Edwards. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Clark Brock, son-in-law Elton Brock and granddaughters Caylee Clark and Heaven Clark.
