Bennie Ruddell, a man known for his unwavering kindness and helpful spirit, passed away peacefully at home on May 30th, 2024; he was 76 years old. Bennie was born in Longview, Texas to parents: Johnnie and Sallie Jo Ruddell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy, brother, Johnnie Ruddell ,sister, Dorothy Hislop, nephew Richard Lancaster and wife Paula.
Bennie brought unconditional love and peace into the life of his wife, Cathy Ruddell, for over 20 years. Their love story and life they built serves as an inspiration to all who know them. He was a devoted father to Toni Wilson and Angela Mosbroker, son-in-law, David Wilson, and a cherished grandfather to Preston Wilson, Zachary Fuchs, Rae Ann Vasquez, and Bobby Wilson. Bennie's impact on his grandchildren was immeasurable. He taught them a legacy of kindness, helpfulness, respect & responsibility and a love for learning that will continue to inspire them throughout their lives.
Bennie was known for his love of family, peaceful spirit and generosity; he extended kindness and care to everyone he met. Whether it was putting up an antenna so his godchildren could watch PBS or helping a stranger in need, he was always willing to lend a hand. His extensive knowledge and willingness to share it made him a valuable resource to all around him. Bennie was a skilled machinist throughout his career.
Bennie proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
A Celebration of Life event will be announced once arrangements are finalized. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you continue his legacy by helping those in need.
