Born November 7th, 1937, in Cuba, Alabama, to parents Louis and Mittie Bell Husband. As a child, Ann grew up in the cotton fields of Alabama, where she worked the fields, attended school and helped with family chores.
Ann moved to Longview, Texas, at the age of 15 in 1953, and worked as a waitress at Ethel's Diner. There, she met and married her lifelong soul mate, Pierce Hendrix Jr. They had three children. Ann was employed at STEMCO Manufacturing for 13 years as quality control inspector. She also worked at Clairmont Nursing Home as a caregiver.
Her passion was her family and caring for those in need. She loved to work with ceramics and operated a small ceramic business from home.
Ann passed away at home November 14th, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Pierce Hendrix Jr.; daughter, Vicki Ann Vestal; and a son, John Louis Hendrix. She is survived by a son, Mike Hendrix of Longview; two daughters-in-law, Becky Hendrix and Lynn Hendrix; four grandchildren, Philip Hendrix, Jessica Vestal, Kevin Hendrix and Cameron Hendrix; one great-granddaughter, Khloe Grace Vestal; and one sister, Carolyn Luman.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 18th, 2010, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, November 17th, 2010, at the funeral home.
