William “Bill” G. Musselman, born September 13, 1927, in Tangier, OK, to parents Bertrum “Bert” and Mary Alice ”Mae” Musselman. Bill passed September 18th at 92. He was the 12th of 13 siblings (3 passed away at birth). He was the only sibling to be born in a hospital. In 1938 Bill and his older brother, Pat, spent 5 days and 4 nights driving a team of horses with a wagon 130 miles from Tangier to Larned, KS, were the family made their new home. Bill enlisted in the US Navy at 17 during WWII. He was in NYC when the war ended. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Kansas where he met Rusty Waffensmith and went to work building power lines. His new job brought him to Colorado where he met and married Maurice “Mitzi” Musselman December 7, 1958, and became a father to William “Billy.” He and a partner eventually bought the power contracting company, R. A. Waffensmith and Co. The company built power lines, substations, transmission lines in Colorado and seven other western states. He retired and has lived in the St. Vrain Valley more than 60 years where he was known for playing Santa during the holidays and making everyone smile year round. Bill and Mitzi were long-time members at Hygiene Methodist Church. They enjoyed bowling on leagues for years and they enjoyed another community of friends in Tucson, AZ. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, both parents, and 11 siblings. He is survived by his sister, Betty Nichols of Oklahoma; his son, William “Billy” Musselman and his wife LaRae of Oak Creek, CO; granddaughters, Tara and Tannea Musselman of Denver; granddaughter Sarah Pierce and her husband Guy; and great-granddaughter, Kolbie, of Oak Creek, CO. He is also survived by extended family and friends all over the nation who he loved very much and kept in touch with on a regular basis. Bill was known for his endless and very entertaining stories.
