Vera F. (Tull) Faucett, a resident of Longmont for over 76 years, passed away Wednesday, August 28,at her home in Longmont. Her passions in life during a 103-year long journey and adventure werefamily; china painting, for which she was a recognized artist and expert; having beautiful flowers in heryard; and making trips to various thrift shops in the area seeking to find the bargain of all bargains.Vera Faye Tull was born December 9, 1915 in the drylands of southeastern Colorado, near Kazan,CO, to John Thomas Tull and Mae A. (Larsen) (Tull) Thomas, who preceded her in death. Vera was alsopreceded in death by her husband Leonard R. Faucett; her son L. Ron Faucett, Jr.; stepfather, Frank R.Thomas; four sisters, Neta M. (Billee) Tull, Bonnie M. Tull, Helen J. Thomas and Lucille T. Baer; brothersGeorge W. Tull and John T. (Bud) Tull; and half-sister Ada I. Stephens.Vera is survived by her daughter Frances Vonalt of Mead; grandsons Dan Vonalt and wife Denise ofMead and Duane Vonalt of Mead; granddaughter Cindy Cook and husband Jim of Loveland; nine greatgrandchildren; nine great, great grandchildren; one nephew, John T. Tull, Jr. and his wife Linda of BosqueFarms, NM and two nieces, Teresa K. Ratzlaff-Medina of Arvada and Julie Thomas-Buckhouse and herhusband Neal of Donlan, MT.In 1928 Vera and her family moved from the drylands of Colorado to Las Animas, CO, where she attended various schools and graduated from high school in 1934. She married Leonard R.Faucett in 1934 after high school. They came to Longmont in about 1943. Once in Longmont, Leonardbuilt the Model Laundry, where Vera worked for a time and helped Leonard get the businessestablished. After that, Vera's interests turned to china painting, which she pursued for many years,becoming an accomplished artist, teacher and expert. Throughout her life, Vera valued her family, andfriends she adopted as family, above all. To her family and friends, she was the family favorite andmatriarch.Services for Vera will be held Thursday morning, September 5 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel inLongmont. A viewing will be held starting at 9:00 am, followed by services at 10:00 am. Pallbearers willbe Jim Cook, Dacotah Downs, Justin Downs, Eduardo (Eddie) Montoya, Brian Vonalt and Jacob Vonalt.Graveside services and burial will follow at 11:00 am at the Mountain View Cemetery. A reception at theAhlberg Funeral Chapel will be held at 12:00/noon following graveside services/burial.
