Steve is survived by his wife Milenda, son Shane, daughter Jean Marie, brother William (Jan) of Etna, OH, and sister Mary Beth (Richard) Beilewicz of Carnegie, PA. His parents Stephen and Marie preceded him in death.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Steve graduated from Shaler High School, and developed his early love of cars while working in his father’s garage.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1967, was deployed to Vietnam where he served 581 days in country. There he expanded his mechanic’s skills to include service of special vehicles and base equipment. After his tours, Steve was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, and like many others, fell in love with Colorado.
As the original owner of Steve’s Automotive in Longmont, Steve ensured the highest quality mechanical and customer service from 1994 through his retirement in 2020. He was pleased that employees bought the business and have continued to ‘do things Steve’s way’. He was also a proud member of the ColoRODans Car Club. Through Steve’s Automotive, he sponsored many car shows throughout the region, and enjoyed attending them with his 1970 Chevelle or 1970 El Camino. As a small business owner, Steve recognized the importance of family-owned businesses in the community and supported many local restaurants and small businesses.
