Sondra Paulette Hoff beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law passed away peacefully on Sunday August 21, 2022 at UC Health in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 80 after a long battle with complications from Scleroderma.
Sondra was born on July 3, 1942 in Longmont, Colorado to Rev. Robert J. Miller and Alma Nusz. Sondra graduated from Longmont High School in 1960 and went on to attend Parks Business College in Denver, CO before working her first professional job at Martin Marietta. She was married in 1962. Sondra lived in Munich, Germany for two years before coming back to Colorado and raising her family in Niwot. Once her two girls were grown Sondra worked for Gardner Signs as an administrative assistant and then in magazine fulfillment for Neodata, EDS, and Kable.
Sondra loved her beautiful Colorado mountains and had a wonderful view from the back deck of her home. She deeply loved her road trips, camping, rock shows, and rendezvous that she shared with her grandchildren and daughters. Sondra also shared July birthdays with two of her grandchildren and every year the entire family would celebrate the birthdays and the 4th of July together in Estes Park. Sondra also enjoyed reading historical novels, painting ceramics at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, and cooking.
Sondra is survived by her daughters Kimberly (Bryon) Sack of Westminster, CO and Caprice Rushing of Estes Park, CO; grandchildren Sariah Rushing, Acayla (Dawson) Chung, Talisa Rushing, Auston Sack (Raquel Ruiz), Kara Sack (Levi Heaston); her sister Susan Miles of Loveland, CO; her “adopted” daughter Sabine (Carsten) Fraedrich and sons Joshua and Luis of Berlin, Germany: and many dear friends and extended family. Sondra was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Robert J. and Alma Miller and her nephew Derek Miles.
Sondra was laid to rest in a graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, CO on September 24, 2022. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to all those that were able to attend.
A memorial bench will be dedicated in Sondra’s honor and placed outside of the craft room at the YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, CO, where all may sit and enjoy the majestic mountain view she held so dear.
