Shirley Louise Lund passed away on February 13th 2022 in Columbus Ohio. She was 97. She was married to Harry Lund for 58 years. They moved to Broomfied, CO from Minnesota in the early 1950’s after a career as professional table tennis players. They raised 3 children, David, Craig, and Nancy. Shirley loved bridge, bowling, table tennis, knitting, cross stitch, and was a fan of Colorado sports teams. She and Harry were inducted into the Minnesota Table Tennis Hall of Fame. Shirley worked most of her life as a secretary and retired from the FAA at Jefferson County Airport. They invested in Spudnut, the Broomfield donut shop and then retired in Longmont, CO. She established a national 1924 Club for people born the same year she was, made many friends and published the newsletter. She spent 12 years in Gate and Green in Broomfield, CO before moving to Columbus Oh in 2012. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her son David and her daughter Nancy. She is survived by her son Craig, wife Annie and grandson Andrew of Columbus Ohio, Nancy’s daughter Sarah Fleming, Austin, TX. and David’s wife Ann Lund, Broomfield CO and children Don Lund, wife Dena, Jeff Lund, Brad Lund, wife Amy and Kevin Lund and their families.
