Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend Sharron A. Reese of Broomfield, CO passed away on April 9, 2024. She was 96. Sharron was born on June 4, 1927, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Arthur and Mabel (Martin) Haurum.
Sharron attended the University of Northern Iowa. In 1955, she moved to Denver Colorado. She met Charles E. Reese, and they married on November 12, 1955 in Boulder, Colorado. They had two daughters, Regan Waddle (Randy) and Shannon Albrecht (Scott). Sharron and Chuck lived in Denver with moves to Northglenn, Longmont and then settled in Niwot, CO. After Chuck’s passing in 2009 Sharron soon moved to a Retirement Community in Broomfield, CO. She lived there until her passing.
Sharron was a devoted mom. She also enjoyed playing club bridge, reading, art and painting, playing the piano and volunteering in her community. She loved to travel and with Chuck, she traveled the U.S. and several trips abroad. She made many more amazing trips with family members and friends. While in Niwot, Sharron enjoyed working at several of the restaurants and shops in town. The money she earned was spent on spoiling her grandchildren. A devoted grandmother, she loved spending time with all of them and was a huge help to her working daughters. In her retirement community, Sharron enjoyed playing cards and singing in the choir. She continued to play her piano as well.
Sharron is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harlan Haurum (Carolyn) and David Haurum. Sharron is survived by her daughters, Regan and Shannon and their husbands, Grandchildren: Carrie Waddle Gardner (Will), Zach Waddle (Tara), Taylor Albrecht and Christopher Albrecht. Great Grandchildren: Jaydeane, Wyatt and Laurabelle Waddle, Reese and Nash Gardner. Sharron will be missed, and her memory cherished by us all.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26 at 11:00 am at Howe Mortuary and Crematory 439 Coffman St., Longmont, CO 80501. Sharron’s final resting place will be with Charles in Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Longmont Library.
