Hello, my name is Sharon Ratzlaff. I was born July 20, 1937 to Ralph & Ruby Harper in Loudon, TN. At a young age my family moved to Brighton, CO. I graduated from Brighton High School where I played clarinet in the band and was a cheerleader. The church youth group I attended would go roller skating at the Wagon Wheel roller skating rink in Brighton. It was there one night I met the love of my life, Franklin Ratzlaff. We were married 18 months later. 18 months after that we had a son, Alan Lee Ratzlaff, who died at birth. I went on to have two other children, Kirk Dean Ratzlaff and Verneta Jane Ratzlaff. I was fortunate enough to have traveled with my husband to Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Hawaii and Mexico. Because I loved to travel, my family always teased me that I kept a bag packed ready to go¦..and I did! In June of 1986, I had the joy of watching my son marry Debra Nichols. They blessed my life with three grandchildren, Sgt. Jon Paul Ratzlaff who married Shea Sweet. Austin Ratzlaff & Annica Ratzlaff. May of 1992 saw my daughter marry Anthony Lechman. They blessed me with two additional grandchildren, Mariah Lechman & Nicole Lechman. I was blessed to have my family live close to me all of my life and be able to create precious memories with each of them. When my husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, I was able to put my love of travel to use organizing a trip to Alaska with our children and grandchildren. It was a wonderful trip with beautiful memories. In my life I enjoyed bowling, gardening, travel, spending time with family and relaxing at our home in Estes Park.Occasionally in my life my family would be confronted with my brutal honesty but they always knew I loved them. Preceding me to heaven was my parents, infant son, sister in law Jeanette Brown and brother in law Fred Hasl. I leave behind my beloved husband Franklin, my children, grandchildren, soon to be born great grandson Gunner Ratzlaff, my precious sister Trena Hasl. Also staying behind are my in laws Marvin and Linda Ratzlaff, Harold and Lois Grubbs, my nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces as well as numerous cherished extended family and friends. But don't worry about me. I am just fine and looking forward to seeing you in Heaven.Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends.
