Sally Ann Bright was a Colorado native, born and raised in Colorado Springs. While still in high school, she met the love of her life, Norman Bright, an Indiana boy who was in the Air Force and stationed at Camp Carson (now Fort Carson). Sally and Norm were married for 68 years, during which time they lived in Nevada, Oklahoma, Michigan, California and Texas, before finally settling later in life in Longmont, Colorado.
Until her three daughters were grown, Sally was a homemaker extraordinaire, with a spic and span home, healthy meals, and abundant love and caring for her girls and husband. Later, she worked in a children’s clothing shop, at a chiropractor’s office, and at Lawn Doctor Longmont, owned by her daughter, Karen, and son-in-law, Marty. Sally loved working with her family and worked there until about the age of 70.
Family was everything to Sally. She was the definition of “being there.” We could always count on her to listen. Her empathy was boundless. She was (and is) the “glue” that binds our family together.
Sally is survived by her daughters Connie Bright, Debra (Glenn) Nitta and Karen (Marty) Johnson; her grandchildren Stacey Bolin, Kelly (Josh) Plank, Luke DeMaestri, Dena DeMaestri and Sean Nitta; great-grandchildren Kaya DeMaestri, Tysen DeMaestri, Maverick Plank and Carly Bolin; sisters, Shirley Hester and Lila House; and brother, John White (Barb). Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norm; parents, Virginia and Orville White; brother, Steve White; and grandson, Brian DeMaestri.
Sally will be greatly missed, and her family and friends will love, honor and celebrate her memory for the rest of our lives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
