Ruth I. Almquist of Longmont passed away from a sudden heart attack on March 6, 2015 in Cedar Park, Texas. She was 86 years old.She was born June 30, 1928 in Hope, Michigan to Michael and Bertha (Arnold) Wendt.Ruth was a loving homemaker and mother, devoted to her family.She loved to dance. For many years she has enjoyed the many dances at the Longmont Senior Center. Ruth also raised chickens for most of her life, providing fresh eggs to many family and friends.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wally in 1984, son Ronald Hoover, four sisters Rose Vennard, Laura LaVasseur, Marie Robinson and Ruby Jones (her twin) and two brothers Ted Wendt and Lawrence Wendt. She is survived by one son Herb Hoover, two daughters Pat Stoderl and Cathy LeDoux (Robert), two sisters Velma Meyers and Birdie Clark, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and her dear companion and friend Dale Meyer.A celebration of Ruth's life will be held June 27, 2015 from 1-5pm at the Her Farm with a potluck and dancing. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
