Ronald Stevens

Ron was born January 1, 1952 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Rolland L. and Doris Marie (Bigelow) Stevens. The family moved to Woodland, California where Ron graduated high school. Ron married Edna Elaine Green on November 1, 1975 in Reno, Nevada. The couple later divorced but remained friends. The family moved to Longmont in 1979.

Ron was employed with a mobile home manufacturing business before joining the Parks and Recreation Department with the City of Longmont. With the City, Ron was responsible for ground maintenance operations. He retired from the City three years ago.

Ron enjoyed working and fixing up his 1965 Chevy pick-up, growing a garden every year with the help of his grandchildren and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing at mountain lakes and hiking as much as he could. He bowled for several years and enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. The family remembers Ron as a good father, hard worker and good provider.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers: Steve and Kenny, and a sister, Wanda Kimnetz. He is survived by his former wife; two sons: Jason Stevens and wife Cameron and Robert Stevens and wife Staci and daughter April Salazar and husband Isaac all of Longmont. He is also survived by five brothers: Wayne (Ann) Stevens, Bob (Marie) Stevens, Terry (Sally) Stevens, Mark and Tim Stevens and by ten grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6 at Howe Mortuary. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
