Ronald F. Bauer passed away December 1, 2014 surrounded by family at the home of his daughter. He was 92 years old.He was born July 15, 1922 in Longmont to Herman F. and Mary Grace (Luekens) Bauer the 4th of seven children. Ron graduated from Longmont High School class of 1941. Ron served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was on Tinian as a ground crewman for the B-29 bomber Omaha One More Time which made air strikes on Japan.Returning home Ron married Rosalie J. Blake on April 6, 1947 in Steamboat Springs. They made Longmont their home.Ron was a professional photographer, working many years at Hildreth Studio in Longmont. Later Rosalie's passion for flowers led she and Ron to open Flower Preservations, Inc. Ron built custom shadow boxes to showcase Rosalie's preserved flower arrangements.He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 32, VFW Post 2601, Elks Lodge 1055, Moose Lodge 1548, and had served as a Boy Scout Leader.Family was very important to Ron and he enjoyed sharing nature, hunting and fishing with them. He was also the consummate handyman.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosalie in 2007, son Phil in 1998, two brothers Robert and Grant and one sister Helen.Ron is survived by his son Ron Bauer (Deb) and daughter Michelle Jordan (Steven) both of Longmont, daughter-in-law Laura Bauer of South Dakota, grandchildren Thomas Bauer (fiancée Allison DeLisle), Tori Bauer, Becky Miller (Daniel) and Tami Bauer, great grandchildren Ginger Rose and Hazel, brother Don Bauer and two sisters Betty Evig and Marilyn O'Connell.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, January 9th, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at Ron and Deb Bauer's. Inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to TRU Community Care (hospice).
