Roberta "Bobby" Louise Tabert

Born April 4, 1951 in Rosland Park, NY, she is predeceased by her parents, Robert and D. Irene Wells of Great Neck, NY, and her late husband of 36 years, Michael Tabert of Longmont, CO. She is survived by her two children, Christopher Tabert and his wife Corinne Tabert of Destin, FL, and Maggie (Tabert) Toth and her husband Louis Toth of Westminster CO. She has two grandchildren, Shelby and Lawson, both 5. Bobby is also survived by three sisters, Dorothy Mazepa of North Carolina, Barabra Diane Wells of Tennessee, and Shirley Dubay of Kentucky.

Bobby grew up in Great Neck, NY. She graduated high school from Great Neck North High School. She attended the University of North Carolina Greensboro and graduated with a BS in Physical Education.

Mike and Bobby moved from New York to Englewood, Colorado together in 1974. They were married on June 19th, 1976. They moved from Englewood to Longmont when Mike became a firefighter with Longmont Fire Department in 1980. Christopher was born in 1979 and Maggie was born in 1982. Bobby was beaming with pride when she was able to see Christopher become a Naval Aviator and Maggie graduate from Law School and pass the bar.

Bobby was a teacher and school director for numerous schools in Longmont. Bobby enjoyed teaching kindergarten the most, but also substitute taught all grades. When her husband Mike retired, Bobby and Mike spent his retirement traveling. They were able to go to Hawaii and the Florida Keys and had been looking into an Alaska trip until Mike passed in 2012. Bobby was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2011. She had surgery and was treated with radiation which she completed in 2012, and remained in remission.

Bobby was active in Church, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts where she was a troop leader. Bobby continued working with Girl Scouts well after her troop members went to college. Bobby loved gardening, socializing with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren, either at her home or over Facetime.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11:00 am at Heart of Longmont Church located at 350 11th Ave, Longmont CO 80501. The family wishes to thank those who have extended emotional support for Bobby during her final days and continue to after her passing.
