Bob was born on March 4, 1928 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Stewart Tait and Letha Stonebraker Tait. Following graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy. He proudly served during the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post #32.
Bob moved to Colorado following his discharge and worked in Colorado. There he met Diana McCormick. They were married in her home town of Rangely, Colorado on June 1, 1963. They spent 52 wonderful years together. They moved to Longmont in 1965, where he took a position with the United State Postal Service as the window clerk in Longmont. He retired in 1988.
Bob was a gentle man with a quiet soul. He loved his time with his family, being outdoors, and cheering on the Rockies. He was known for being a fixer of anything, and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Frequent camping trips with family and friends, gave him the opportunity to hone his open fire cooking skills. He was a hunter of both big game and birds and shared this knowledge with his 3 children.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, September 21 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area ""B"", Denver, Colorado.
Contributions may be made to the Charity of Donor’s Choice in Bob’s memory.
