Robert graduated from Huntertown High School, Class of 1949. On August 4, 1951, he married Patricia (Pat) Ann O'Connor. Together, they raised four daughters. Robert went to serve his Country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Germany, where Patricia joined him. After his military service, they eventually settled back in Fort Wayne, where he worked for AT&T for 33 years until retiring in 1990.
Bob could fix anything and build anything. Together, they always devoted lots of time creating a warm and inviting home; well-manicured and beautiful yards; thriving gardens, and many bountiful, fruit trees - all went into years of great family meals and gatherings full of wonderful memories.
Once retired, they moved to their favorite vacation spot- Petoskey, Ml. They spent many years enjoying the beauty of the Northern Michigan area. Bob liked staying active and worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental and volunteered for the Red Cross - both allowed him to do what he always enjoyed -driving around the area and taking in the sights.
Eventually, they moved to Longmont, CO to be close to family. Once again, Bob worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental. He also volunteered at Longmont Meals on Wheels, where he loved delivering meals. He would always arrive a little extra early to start, allowing time for a cup of coffee (and if lucky, a donut), then a quick visit with fellow workers, and when possible a brief chat with the people on his route.
Bob and Pat always enjoyed spending time with their family, during their 68 years of marriage. He will be fondly remembered as a man of few words but with a dry sense of humor. Left to cherish these memories, are his surviving children: Debra (Frank) lanucilli of Longmont, CO; Susan (Lynn) Delagrange and Lisa Kessler both of Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His oldest daughter, Kathleen, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by all three of his sisters: Helen, Elizabeth (Juanita), Mildred Clark, and his only brother Theodore.
There will be no memorial service. He will be laid to rest at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN alongside his beloved wife Patricia, who preceded him in death on March 27, 2020.
