Robert John Hattersley

May 16th, 1944 – July 16th, 2023

Robert John Hattersley, 79 of Longmont, passed away July 16th, 2023.

Robert was born May 16th, 1944, in Aurora Illinois to John and Alice Hattersley. He was one of five children.

He left Illinois in his early 20’s to travel the countryside and ended up in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he made and sold jewelry. He went on to open a successful tool and die company.

In 1988 he and his son moved to Pasa Robles, California where he worked for Toomey Racing USA customizing motorcycle parts.

In 1991 he moved to Lyons, Colorado where he worked as a machinist building space flight hardware.

He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He loved astronomy and geology.

Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, his grandchildren were the light of his life.

He touched everyone that he knew with his knowledge, compassion, dedication and precision to everything he did.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Gretchen Hattersley, Casandra Wooley (whom he loved as his own daughter), and four grandchildren, Madison, Amber, and Marcus Hattersley, and Tatum Wooley.

He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
