Robert William Eddy

Robert William Eddy, 84, of Longmont passed away with family and close friends by his side April 1st.He was born to Ray and Esther Eddy, May 23, 1929 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John A. Eddy and a sister, Lucille R. Hunzeker. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. Robert married Carol Roddy in 1960 and they lived in Auburn, Nebraska before relocating to Climax, Colorado, eventually moving to Boulder, Colorado where he and Carol lived for 40 years before moving to Longmont.He retired from the Department of Commerce in Boulder after 31 years. After he retired from government he established his own electrical contracting business.Robert was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, as well as music. He also memorized p try, reciting the p ms aloud entertaining others. He is survived by the love of his life, Carol his wife of 54 years, his daughter Jane of Longmont and several nieces and nephews plus many friends.Robert always felt that it is our duty to help all others and donated his body to science.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Heart Association: 1280 S. Parker Rd., Denver, CO 80210.A memorial service will be held at 1:30, Friday, May 23, 2014 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
