Rita Elnora Lowder passed away on September 12, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital. She had suffered advanced COPD and Congestive Heart Failure for an extended period of time. She was an organ donor and was cremated at Howe Mortuary. There has not been a date determined for her memorial service.
Rita was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 8, 1956 to Rosetta May Hamilton and Richard Harvey Hamilton. She was married to David K. Lowder of August 18, 1996 on Kauai, Hawaii. The couple resided in Longmont, Colorado for over 21 years. She is survived by her husband David of Longmont; two sisters, Kathi Hooker and Sharon Scott, both of Castle Rock, CO and two brothers, Darrell Hamilton of Corona, California and Mickey Hamilton of Atlanta, Georgia.
During her life she worked as an assistant securities broker in Denver and in Longmont and was also a licensed cosmetologist. Her passions were travel, fashion and music, as well as giraffes, polar bears and her pet dogs.
She will be dearly missed and never forgotten by all who knew her.
David wrote to Rita:
We had the good fortune to stumble into an exceptional love - a love we didn't have to invent and more meaningful than either of us had ever known - A love that songs are written about that live an everlasting lifetime. I wish I would have looked for you sooner so I would have had more time to love you.
