Mike was born on December 4, 1949 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Doyle Turner and Winifred Smith Turner. He grew up in Erick, OK and earned his Agricultural Economics degree from Oklahoma State University. Mike married Marilyn Luethy on May 16, 1981 in Denver.
Mike’s professional years were in agriculture, primarily the dry edible bean business. He was active in the Rocky Mountain Bean Dealer’s Association for many years.
Mike lived a life of principle, was quick-witted, compassionate, and devoted to his marriage, family, and friends. Mike was an avid dry-fly fisherman, dedicated to stream conservation.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Brian and Scott, sister Sherry (Don) Johnson of Gering, NE; brothers Doug (Anita) Turner of Santa Fe, NM and Dan (Toni) Turner of Clinton, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary, Longmont.
Vigil services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont, CO. with the Reverend Frank Maroney.
A cremation will follow services.
