Paul Thomas Crist Jr.

On Thursday May 11, 2023, Paul Thomas Crist, Jr. (Tom) passed away at age 89. Tom was born on January 18, 1934, in Coolidge Kansas, to Paul and Margaret (Herbig) Crist. He grew up on the family farm in SW Kansas participating in the many tasks of rural living.

Tom attended and graduated from Coolidge Public School. He attended Kansas State University and Wichita State University.

His occupational history included Cessna Aircraft Company, Fairchild- Hiller Aircraft Company, Stanley Aviation and lastly IBM Corp. where Tom retired in 1990. From the earlier aircraft experiences his background in quality inspection and control developed and became his career focus in quality engineering at IBM.

He enjoyed travel particularly road trips and hiking which provided many opportunities for his amateur photography talents. A number of photos he took were framed and enjoyed in his home.

In later years, recreation reading, particularly westerns, playing cards and games, visits with friends and family were always enjoyed. Weekly snooker games and breakfast with friends were events Tom always looked forward to.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, and two sons. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his oldest brother, Harvey, and other family members in CO, CA, and KS.

It is requested there be no public memorial service. Cremation will take place with inurnment in Longmont.
