Patricia 'pat' Ortega

Patricia ""Pat"" Ortega of Longmont, Colorado, died July 3, 2008, at her residence. She was 69.Pat was born on September 7, 1938, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Fredrico Martinez and Mary Espinosa. She was raised in southern Colorado on farms with her family.On October 20, 1956, Pat married Arthur Ortega, Sr. in Raton, New Mexico. The family moved to Denver shortly thereafter. The family moved to Longmont in 1985.Of her many joys were gardening, knitting, crocheting and bingo. An avid sports fan, she kept up with local pro sports and league standings. Providing for her children continued to play much importance in her life.Preceding her in death is her husband.Surviving are her sons, Arthur, Jr. and Russell, both of Longmont; a daughter, Laura Ann Ortega of Reno, Nevada; and sisters, Joan Escobedo, and Mary Ann Pacheco, both of Denver. Interment will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, at Light of Christ Ecumenical Catholic Community, 1000 W. 15th Ave, Longmont.
