Natividad Martinez of Longmont died May 24, 2014 at TRU Community Hospice Care Center. She was 86 years old. She was born July 5, 1927 in El Carmen, New Mexico to Leonardo and Conferina (Lucero) Martinez, the oldest of nine children.Natividad moved to Longmont in 1965 from New Mexico. She was a homemaker and is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.She loved to travel which included trips to New Mexico to visit churches she loved, going for drives and sightseeing and visiting Las Vegas.Natividad was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church.She was preceded in death by her parents and four children Sophia Martinez, Brenda Abetya, Dora Lettig and Juan Martinez.Natividad is survived by her best friend and companion Lee Martinez, five children Beatrice Thomas (Ray), Leandro Martinez, Lillian Butler (Jeffrey), Nora Gallegos (Leroy) and Judith Camarillo (Gilbert), eight sisters and brothers Emma Duran, Fred Martinez, Max Martinez, Leo Martinez, Bernice Romero, Elena Vaca, Mary Ruiz and J. Leonardo Martinez, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, May 28, 2014. A Vigil service will begin at 6:00pm on Wed. both at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday May 29, 2014 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
