Mary Jane was born in Fairfield, Iowa to Alva and Marie Anson on August 23, 1932. She spent her childhood in Keosauqua, Iowa and went to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Mary Jane moved to Colorado where she worked for Silver State Savings and Loan. In 1957, she married Richard Lange and they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Marla, and later divorced.
Mary Jane was a long-time Longmont resident and very active in her community. As a business woman, she worked in the Title Insurance and Services industry and knew most of the realtors and bankers in town. As a friend, Mary Jane loved to walk her dog and sit on her patio and talk to people in the neighborhood. All of her friends were very dear to her. For fun, she was a bowler, a Denver Broncos’ fan and a member of an exercise class at the hospital. Mary Jane was a proud PEO member and loved all the meetings and lunches with her sisters. She was a Christian and a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Longmont. She enjoyed her church friends and going on trips with them. Mary Jane also cherished time with her family, especially for the holidays. When Mary Jane retired she moved to a house in Hover Park where she served on the board and was very happy living there.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Marie and her cousin, Richard.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Kelly) Baumgardner of Frederick, CO; two grandchildren Bailey and Jackson, and her daughter Marla Lange of Jonesborough, TN.
