During World War II, Mary was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad. In 1944, Mary met Bill Collins who was serving with the United States Army Air Forces. Bill and Mary were married at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City in 1945. They honeymooned at Miami Beach. In the early 50's, Bill and Mary moved to Madison, New Jersey. Bill Jr. was born in 1953.
Mary's husband, Bill, passed away in 1980 and she moved to Colorado to be with her son, Bill Jr. and her grandchildren, Kris and Alison. In 1981, Mary began a new career as a real estate agent. At Coldwell Banker in Boulder, Mary became a broker and won many awards. Mary's grandson, Ryan, was born in 1996. After 30 plus years in her extraordinary real estate career Mary retired at age 93.
In December 2021, Mary attended the happy wedding of Bill and Kym Collins. Also in 2021, Mary's great-grandson, Arden, was born to her granddaughter, Alison.
In July 2022. Mary celebrated a great milestone, her 100th birthday.
In January 2023. Mary moved into Bill and Kym's home for hospice care. Kym's love and care for Mary was extraordinary. A few weeks later, Mary gently parted this world, preceded by her parents, husband Bill, sisters Alce, Gloria, Grace and brother George.
Mary loved and was loved by many. She was rarely seen without a smile on her face, or a worry on her mind. Mary will be dearly missed and remembered for the remarkable woman that she was.
