Martha Ann Patterson

Martha Mattie Ann Patterson, age 87, entered into the presence of the Lord on September 1, 2018.She was born June 8, 1931 in Vail, Iowa to Raymond and Barbara Patterson. Because of her mother's death, she was adopted at age eight by Reverend Maurice G. and Myrtle (Goodier) DaMetz. The DaMetz family moved from Omaha, NE to Littleton, CO in 1941 where Martha was active in music, band, drama and writing at Littleton High School. She graduated from Rockmont Bible College with a BA in 1953. She lived in California for twenty-one years, and moved to Longmont in 1978.Martha married Joseph Dodgen on August 7, 1993 in Longmont, CO, who preceded her in death in 1997. She was then married to Kenneth Barhite from June 2003 to November 2016. Martha was an efficient medical office manager for many years and a Paraoptometric for 18 years. She enjoyed house plants, gardening, crocheting, sewing, family history, reading, keeping in touch with longtime friends and entertaining guests. Her life dreams of visiting Ecuador, the Panama Canal, Alaska and Hawaii became a reality in her life. She was an active member in the Grace Evangelical Free Church and the Calvary Church in Longmont.Martha had deep faith in God and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. She loved to play the organ, and was active in women's ministries and teaching Bible studies.Martha is survived by two sons: David Raamiah, and Neil Gordon von K he; one brother, James E. Zimmerman; two sisters: Millie L. Rinne, and Beverly J. Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Grace Evangelical Free Church. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
